I'm considering upgrading from IE5.5 to IE6. I'm using Win 98. (Not Win 98 SE) I've installed all the other Win98 security patches and fixes. If IE5.5 is doing a good job for you then stick with it. Non-support is not really a big issue. New updates will not be written but those already available will be there

I don't think SP2 is available anymore, and recent updates, such as Q832894 have an IE5 sp2 variant, but is says to only install it on Windows ME and later. I'm running IE5 on windows 95 MS support begins with Win98 second edition. IE6 is the latest version of IE and should be installed if you want any new updates.
